Perseus strengthens global PrecisionSyncTM offering with
expansion of time network to Toronto
NEW YORK, NY May 2, 2017 — Perseus, a proven leading provider of global managed services and high precision, high-speed connectivity, today announces the availability of its industry leading time synchronization service in Toronto, Canada. The upgraded PTP and NTP services are available in Equinix TR2 leveraging our ultra low latency network and best-in-class hardware, offering SLAs as low as 5 microseconds accuracy as compared to UTC for PTP services.
Built on the Perseus low-latency network, the expansion of PrecisionSync timing services in Toronto comes alongside a global shift towards regulation and transparency throughout the trade lifecycle. While the IIROC (Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada) has had established time synchronization rules since 2008, they have recently introduced added flexibility in selecting the time protocol or synchronization method, making PrecisionSync a fully compliant third party provider.
“The expansion of our PrecisionSync network comes as we’ve been seeing increased demand for time as a service due to new regulations like MiFID II,” said Ben Cooke, CTO at Perseus. We are always looking at ways to enhance our global offering to meet the changing needs of our clients and we will continue to analyze new markets suitable for our timing services.”
PrecisionSync is available in New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt and Tokyo, with the expansion to Toronto solidifying its place as the leading global provider of time as a service. Further, PrecisionSync clients have access to years of detailed attestation reports via My.Perseus, integrated with NIST data, to prove compliance with all current regulatory standards.
